2011 MLB All Star Game Recap

The MLB All Star game this year was a blast! It has been a great success in the world of baseball. The National League won against the American League now for two consecutive years. The main event of this seasons MLB All Star voting is that record breaking votes of 7.4 million for Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Eight players did not make it to the game due to injuries. Derek Jeter of NYY, Chipper Jones of ATL, Placido Polanco of PHI, Alex Rodriguez of NYY, David Price of TB, Jon Lester of BOS, Mariano Rivera of NYY and Jose Reyes of NYM.

The National League defeated the American League with the score of 5-1. The Most Valuable Player was Prince Fielder of MIL because of his home run that completed the score 5-1. The players who also dominated the 2011 MLB All Star game were: Roy Halladay of PHI, Curtis Ganderson of NYY, Adrian Gonzalez of BOS and Jose Bautista of TOR.

The fan favorite was Brian Wilson of SF who emerged to the top of the ninth inning. The National League also secures an advantage in the World Series coming this fall. The baseball fans and spectators enjoyed this once in a lifetime and record breaking event. This is one of the MLB All Star games that they will surely remember in the coming years.
